Providing Ukrainian Families with English Language Assistance in Their Transition to The UK

Ukrainian people are fighting a war we all hope never to fight. Since February families have been separated, had their homes destroyed and endured enormous suffering. Over 100,000 Ukrainian children will be coming to the Uk and in support of Ukrainian families, Neon-Edu is offering a range of resources to assist the transition into the UK education system.
What is actually happening in Ukraine?
On February 24th 2022, Russia deployed its military into Ukraine. Through continuous and countless bombings and shelling, over 5,200 civilians have been killed and more than 7 million, have fled to other countries. What is nearing one of the worst humanitarian crises seen in Europe in decades, the suffering is continuing into the winter months. Hospitals are running out of medicine and electricity; public infrastructure and homes in Ukraine continue to be destroyed as resources are running out. The people that have managed to escape the country, mostly women and children, are at high risk of encountering violent threats of abuse and exploitation.
What is the UK doing to help?
In response to the Ukraine crisis, the UK is offering humanitarian aid; providing military assistance; changing the immigration system; offering a sponsorship scheme- Homes for Ukraine and putting in place trade restrictions. If you’d like to learn more about these, click here and check out gov.uk.

What Neon-Edu is doing to help
Neon-Edu’s purpose is to provide accessible and convenient learning support to families in the UK. Our goal is to encourage equality in education and ensure that all children are given the chance to achieve their best academically so they can go to the university of their choice. With this objective in mind, Neon-Edu is reaching out a hand of support to Ukrainian Families that are being introduced into the UK educational system.
Мета NEON-EDU — забезпечити доступну та зручну підтримку навчання сім’ям у Великій Британії. Наша мета – заохотити рівність у навчанні та забезпечити, щоб усім дітям було дано шанс досягти найкращого навчального процесу, щоб вони змогли перейти до університету свого вибору. Маючи на увазі цю мету, Неон-виховання виходить з руки підтримки українських сімей, які впроваджуються в освітню систему Великої Британії.

What is Neon-Edu offering in assistance?
For parents and children that wish to improve their language skills, Neon-Edu are providing free English language classes held by Oxford/Cambridge tutors that will be held online in groups, twice a month for one hour each. Tutors will also direct students on what they can do outside of class to practice, and there will be online resources accessible to them also.
Для батьків та дітей, які бажають покращити свої мовні навички, Neon-edu надають безкоштовні заняття англійською мовою, які проводять вихователі Оксфорда/Кембриджа, які будуть проходити онлайн в групах, двічі на місяць по одній годині кожен. Викладачі також будуть направляти студентів на те, що вони можуть робити поза класом, щоб практикувати, і будуть доступні онлайн-ресурси для них також.
Between lessons, we will offer homework to do so that students can continue practising and developing their skills, outside of their scheduled lessons. It’s important that students keep learning and practising.
Між уроками ми запропонуємо домашнє завдання зробити так, щоб студенти могли продовжувати практикувати і розвивати свої навички, поза межами своїх запланованих уроків. Важливо, щоб студенти постійно навчалися і тренувалися.
